The 2016 Kauai Writers Conference event will take place this coming November, just when the weather starts to turn, and will feature a great line-up of presenters including bestselling authors
(partial list):
Christina Baker Kline (The Orphan Train)
Luis Urrea (Pulitzer finalist)
Jonathan Maberry (Bram Stoker awardee five times)
Larry Barber (scriptwriter for the X-Files, Francis Ford Coppola)
Priya Parmar (Vanessa and Her Sister)
Nicholas Delbanco (former National Book Award Committee chair),
Literary agents Andy Ross, Stephanie Cabot (Gernert Company), Jeff
Kleinman (Folio Literary Agency), Susan Golumb (Writers House), Laurie
Fox (Linda Chester Agency), and Amazon expert Terry Persun.
These faculty members have all been chosen for both their accomplishments as writers and their exceptional ability to help other writers improve their craft. Because we keep the conference small (150 attendees) and the master classes intimate (15 attendees each),
there’s plenty of opportunity to network with authors, agents, and peers. The master classes are filling up fast (particularly fiction) so if you’re interested, reserve your spot soon.
The event will take place in a very nice and quite affordable hotel on a beautiful beach. For the four days preceding the conference, there will be intensive workshops by masters of four genres: fiction, memoir, screenwriting, and thriller. The location of these workshops
is perhaps even more beautiful than that of the conference itself, a lovely secluded and elegant facility in a private botanical garden.
For more information, see www.kauaiwritersconference.com or call our organizer, Dave Rosenberg, at 808-639-4517. Just remember that Hawaii is six hours behind the East Coast so you don’t call at 3 a.m. Or, you can email me at davidkatzwriter@gmail.com.
Hope to see you in November!
