Warren Publishing, a premier custom book publisher since 1988, and Marine Corps veteran and award-winning author, Tracy Crow, recently partnered to develop the first imprint to exclusively publish books written by American women military veterans and military family members.
The imprint will operate through a newly formed contest, The Deborah Sampson Prize for Women’s Military Writing, named after Revolutionary War patriot Deborah Sampson who secretly dressed as a man to fight in the Continental Army.
Female military writers may submit manuscripts between 40,000 and 80,000 words, fiction or nonfiction. For fiction, writers may submit a short-story collection or novel. For nonfiction, writers may submit a collection of essays or a book-length memoir.
Deadline is April 31, 2017.

There’s no need for an invitation or representation by a literary agent, although we do ask that all manuscripts are edited and polished.
