The conferences keep piling up… Here’s the latest from Southern CA.

13th Annual Southern California Writers’ Conference *L.A., which takes place Sept. 25-27, 2015 in Irvine, is fast approaching. It’s shaping up to be another great event. Here’s some of the latest:

1) Two more Special Guest Speakers added
Just added to the schedule, our Friday evening Special Guest Speaker will be Stephanie Kegan, author of the haunting literary drama GOLDEN STATE (Simon & Schuster). For Saturday morning, 22-year-old Stephanie Diaz will discuss her author’s journey and the release of the third novel in her series, EVOLUTION (St. Martin’s Griffin).
2) Discounted hotel lodging deadline
The Wyndham Irvine, located at 17941 Von Karman Avenue, Irvine, CA 92614, is the physical site of September’s conference. Book online to receive discounted, or call the hotel direct at (949) 752-7423. Be sure to mention the SCWC. Deadline for discounted rates is Sept. 10, 2015.
3) Advance Submissions deadline
The majority of Advance Submission Readers have been posted. Submissions are now being accepted via email and must be received by us by no later than August 29. As of today, all Readers remain open but are expected to begin selling out soon. Visit our Advance Submissions page for complete information.
4) Discounted pre-registration deadline
The $50 Early “Bard” Discount registration expires on September 1. Pre-register today to guarantee your seat at the table(s) and save.
5) “Best Foot Forward” deadline
Jean Jenkins’ popular 2-part “Best Foot Forward: Polishing to Impress” workshop remains open to genre fiction and narrative nonfiction writers. Space is strictly limited and participants are required to register in advance and submit material to Jean prior to conference weekend. The deadline to do so is September 1. Details.
6) San Diego 30 pre-registration now open
Discounted Early “Bard” Registration is now open for our 30th annual San Diego event. Pre-register by October 1 and save a whopping $100 off the Full Conference.
